Now that it’s officially summer time, the streets are filled with hungry architecture graduates slinging their resumes and filling up inboxes all over town. Along with a slick dossier and an online portfolio, young architects will also need to step-up their wardrobe a bit if they want that junior architect position down at Starchitects & Associates. Let’s face it, that day-old v-neck-T and those Converse All-Stars aren’t going to do you any favors during the interview process, and that frumpy knit cap makes it look like you just rolled out of bed.
But we’re not here to throw tomatoes, we’re here to help. Since the protocols of architectural attire can be nebulous and cryptic, we figured we’d put together a quick guide. We did extensive research, dug deep into our architectural psyches, and without further ado, here is our 2011 Dress the Architect fashion diagram, complete with options for casual and formal occasions. Enjoy.
