The BUILD Young Architect’s Day is a year old now and its time to throw another. With the flood of resumes coming in lately, we know many of you are anxious to meet up and kick the tires on some work by BUILD LLC. For those of you not familiar with our YAD program: we set aside and afternoon and evening for cross-pollination in architecture by touring three BUILD projects with a group of young professionals and students of architecture. It allows us the opportunity to get to know some ambitious architects coming up the ranks and allows you to shoot some questions at team BUILD. The whole thing is entirely casual and we always wrap it up with snacks and beverages.
The next YAD will be held on Thursday, November 12th starting at the BUILD world headquarters at 3.30pm. We’ll tour the BUILD office and take a peak at the Park Modern building. Then we’ll head over to a project currently under construction in Magnolia. The framing is finished and the systems are going in – a great time for a walk through and a lot of architecture to sink your teeth into. Afterward we’ll head up to Picnic Food and Wine Boutique, a finished project of ours on Phinney Ridge. All the while we’ll be discussing design, the profession and why architects wear black turtle necks. You can take a gander at some previous YAD posts here, here and here. If this sounds interesting to you, drop us a line at yad@buildllc.com and stay tuned.
