The work of Eric Cobb has been a strong influence on us here at BUILD; in fact we got our start when BUILD founder, Kevin Eckert, built Cobb’s own residence nearly a decade ago. We admire the discipline of materials, the efficiency of methods and the boldness of form in Cobb’s work. For a young architect (under 50 years old by definition) Cobb has a considerable and significant portfolio of work which can be seen on his website. For the purpose of this blog entry we will focus on a couple of aspects that Cobb and his team do very well: exterior massing and the innovation of stairs.
