Herkimer Coffee, Seattle

Herkimer Coffee just opened their second coffee shop at the Park Modern in the south Ravenna neighborhood. The warm-modernist design should please the design aficionados out there; the interior by architect Todd Lawson includes custom maple cabinetry, darkened steel and concrete countertops. The space has a very nice design discipline to it and the material palette is rich but clean. The coffee is excellent and there’s outdoor seating with morning light (a hard thing to find in Seattle). The current art exhibit is “Dwellings” by Graham Fracha. More info can be found on the Herkimer Coffee website. It’s also been added to the Modern List Seattle. Get your taste buds over there.
