Team BUILD just returned from Manhattan and we’ve got some design infused hot-spots to share. Some are brand spanking new, some are just new to us – but all of them made for a smashing trip. More on The Modern List Manhattan…

We just returned from Manhattan where we dove headfirst into the latest modern architecture, design, art, food and culture. It’s a great time for a trip to NYC because even the design hotels are offering outstanding rates. We got a screamin deal at the Gramercy Park Hotel this time – an establishment so exclusive that they usually don’t even let rubbish like us into the bar. Boutique restaurants were hosting recession specials and happy-hours were plentiful. Below are the spots that we recommend checking out; we must have missed dozens of cool, new, modern places – so hit that comments button and give us the scoop. As per usual – these will be added to The Modern List where you can find many more.

BUILD just returned from New York City where we field tested the new and improved Modern List Manhattan. The database of all things modern is iPhone friendly now and each entry links directly to Google Maps – eliminating the need for physical maps. There are tons of new entries for you modernists out there (if you can put up with our crappy photos), and many more on The Modern List:

Although we haven’t spent much time in Manhattan lately (and won’t until the heat gets turned back on) there is quite a bit of work to catch up on in the big city. We were sorry to see a couple of great modern spaces close shop (Restaurant 66, Jewel Bako Makimono, Ini Ani Coffee Shop) but a whole new crop of rocket-hot, modern interiors and exteriors have emerged. Here’s a quick primer, look for updates to The Modern List Manhattan in the near future.
