We’ve got a rock-star buddy who, at the drop of a hat, will go climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, navigate the crowded streets of Mumbai or, in this case, head to Haiti to help with the earthquake relief efforts. Team BUILD was fortunate enough to be able to financial contribute to his trip and in return he brought back images and a first-hand account of the work being done in Haiti. There’s something significant happening in Seattle on Thursday evening and it’s a great excuse to come have a drink with team BUILD. Our favorite food and wine boutique, Picnic, on Phinney Ridge is pulling triple duty and we’re betting that it’ll be a smashing good time. The gritty and highly engaging work of Sierra Scott is being featured in conjunction with a tasting of some delicious wines from her native Australia. To top it all off, the wine tasting fee of eight dollars is being plugged straight into the efforts of Shelterbox and will provide emergency housing in Haiti. Picnic has done a brilliant job organizing the effort and your friends at BUILD are chipping in a couple of bucks for each bottle sold to help the cause. All you have to do is show up, drink some wine and check out some stellar work on the walls. Here are the details:
What: Art show, wine tasting and a great way to help Haiti
Where: 6801 Greenwood Ave North in Seattle’s Phinney Ridge neighborhood (map)
When: This Thursday evening, February 4th from 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Why: to help provide shelter for people who need it, to get your eyes on some art and your palette on some wine
Cheers and we’ll see you there.
