Sheesh -it’s been busy around here. As we’re coming up for air, we figured we’d scribble a few things up on the blog and give you the scoop with what we’ve been up to lately.

Crack open that fall issue of Arcade Journal or go to their website and read our latest Interview with the wonderful Billie Tsien of TWBT Architects in NYC. She’s graceful, insightful and we had a blast speaking with her.

Our Innis Arden Remodel is featured in the current issue of Atomic Ranch Magazine. You can pick up a copy at these locations.

We just scheduled in 2 lectures for Residential Architect Magazine’s Reinvention Symposium in Phoenix Arizona this December. We’ll be lecturing on the design-build system and also on social media. If you’re in the area, come join us. And if you’ve got any recommendations on stuff to check out in Phoenix/Scottsdale -hit that comments button.

On Sunday, September 19th, the Seattle Times Pacific Northwest Magazine featured 4 of our friends and 2 BUILD projects in a timely article about urban lifestyles in the Pacific Northwest.  A big shout-out to Chase, Josiah, Jenny, Anson and the fantastic Rebecca Teagarden for her jedi writing skills.

We recently locked down a lecture in Billings Montana for the Billings Architectural Association this spring, stay tuned for more details.

Our Wedgewood project is wrapping up nicely. The mid-century modern home is being updated with a new kitchen, new bathroom, selective new surfaces inside and a facelift at the exterior. We’ll have a full spread on this gem in the weeks to come.

Construction on the Queen Anne house is moving at a good pace and we’re dried in. We’ve been having a good time putting together top-10 “how-to” posts on each and every stage, keep your eyes open for the forthcoming post on roofing.

The Bellevue job has broken ground and there’s cool toys all over the site. Bellevue could use a good dose of modern and we’re very excited that this project has started.

We’re cautiously stepping back into development work with a new residential project and we’ll be documenting it from beginning to end. It kicked off with our value vs. risk post.

The Mid-century modern Hilltop Residence that we’ve been cranking away on goes in for permit this week.

We finally got up to Whidbey Island for final photos of a recently finished project, complete with lavender field. We’ll have a full post on this little guy shortly.

We’ve been working with the stellar non-profit Coyote Central in town, whose ambitious curriculum is adding facilities to their educational mission.

The Des Moines mid-century modern project is giving us a great opportunity to keep our pencils sharp with the MCM vocabulary.

We’ve also been looking a variety of design implementations to an existing home in Issaquah; the image below illustrates an ambitious master plan.

The Beaux Arts community is a quaint little “village” in Bellevue that we’ve been wrapping our minds around lately. We’ll be introducing you to a new project there soon.

That’s all the news for now. Anything we should be up to out there? Hit that comments button.
Cheers from team BUILD.
